Hello form still very warm (hot) southeast North Carolina. The good news is fishing has been good to very good and we are starting to see signs of fall everyday. The summer fishing continues to be outstanding here in central Florida. Redfish have been providing the most consistent action with large schools being encountered on most days. These fish have been biting well and will chase down lures fished on the surface providing some explosive bites. There are a few tarpon around but they have yet to appear inshore in significant numbers. [Read Full Article]
Can you believe that school is already back in session… Redfish will be schooling up as well this month. Not the flats fish but the giant deep water “Bull” redfish will be stacked at the inlets and other deep water spots. Fish around the slack tides at the inlets for the best results. I like to use a fish-finder rig with a 60lb. leader and a 5-7/0 circle hook. One major key to hooking up is to keep your bait on the bottom. But I am not complaining at all, and I am very Lucky to have such a great client base to fish with every year. They truly make my job easy and very exciting. [Read Full Article]
Low water levels in the Mosquito Lagoon have concentrated the redfish. They can be found in schools, singles, and small groups throughout the day. The best baits have been those imitating mullet or small fish with the DOA Baitbuster and four inch DOA CAL in the silver mullet color. The tarpon that were present last month have been few and far between. The ladyfish schools have thinned out as well but some large schools of jack crevalle can be found crashing schools of mullet. Well folks the HOT weather is back and with it has been a brisk Southwest wind. The wind has really kept me inshore fishing for the last few weeks, but we did get out in the ocean a few times early in the morning before the wind got up. The days we got out the Spanish mackerel fishing was good and the days we could not get out we’ve been catching good numbers of Flounder and a few nice Redfish too. Let’s talk about that and a few other things in this weeks fishing report>>> [Read Full Article]
